2013
There was no outlook written for Einar Diaz.
2006
As a starter for Cleveland from 1999 to 2001, Diaz hit a solid .277, but at various stops since he's dipped to .228. His defensive ability should give him a shot at a backup job in 2006.
2005
Diaz was his usual disastrous self at the plate, and even though his hefty contract expired, he was able to find work fairly quickly with the Cardinals, who will use him to tutor Yadier Molina.
2004
Well, Diaz was better in 2003 than he was in 2002, but still pretty dreadful. Anyone want to guess if his $3.25 million contract option will be picked up for 2005? As for 2004, he'll be the starting catcher since he's being paid a lot of money to do something.
2003
Diaz had a really bad year in 2002. Historically awful. Dreadful. Wretched. As a reward, he was dealt to Texas, where he'll take over the catching duties now that Pudge Rodriguez has moved on. Playing at The Ballpark will help, as will being healthier, but nothing that will save him from being worthless in most leagues out there.
