RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Dave Hansen.
Hansen is one of the better pinch-hitters around, despite hitting .173 in 75 at-bats last season for Seattle. He should probably stay in the National League, where pinch-hitting is a higher priority.
Usually one of the better pinch-hitters in the game, Hansen cratered after being traded to the Padres for the stretch run. He probably has one more year left, but the end is nigh.
At his age he's strictly a pinch-hitter and backup corner infielder. He hasn't had 200 major league at-bats in a season since 1992, his first full year in the bigs. Excepting one year in Japan, his career has been as a role player and he might have a year or two left in the same capacity.
Pinch-hitter extraordinaire who might fare well as a platoon starter if ever given the opportunity. He won't be given an opportunity at this stage of his career, but it's fun to speculate nonetheless.
