A midseason appendectomy prevented Hunter from getting more playing time in the wake of Richard Hidalgo's meltdown, but he still managed over 200 plate appearances. Hunter can still provide a handful of stolen bases in the right situation, but little else. If he remains with the Astros, his opportunity to run will be curtailed by manager Jimy Williams, who often eschews the running game.
