2006
After coming over from the Yankees, Groom gave up eight runs and 24 baserunners in 15 1/3 innings. The lefty probably will get the chance to put up numbers just as enthralling for someone else in 2006.
2005
Groom becomes a free agent after his option for 2005 was declined by the Orioles. He’s an experienced left-handed arm, so he should catch on somewhere next season.
2004
Groom is likely not to be asked by Baltimore to pitch in high-leverage situations after a season of ineffectiveness in 2003. He's signed for another season, with a club option for 2005.
2003
Groom is the left-handed setup man for Jorge Julio. He had another stellar year out of the pen for the O's with a 1.60 ERA in 70 appearances. He'll get some saves when the Orioles need a lefty to get the last out.
