2013
There was no outlook written for Oscar Salazar.
2011
Salazar has limited power and despite his .237 batting average in 2010 (see a .264 BABIP), he can hit for a decent average, but that's where his offensive skills start and end. He derives most of his value from his ability to play almost any defensive position as a bench player. It's highly likely that your league doesn't reward rostering players of that ilk, so he's best left as waiver-wire fodder.
2010
It's not often a .400 hitter gets dealt, but Salazar was batting .419 when the Orioles sent him to the Padres to relieve a roster crunch in July. He's a useful bench bat who is willing to play all over the field and who draws enough walks to be a decent choice to lead off an inning, with all the fantasy value that implies.
2009
Salazar is a very late bloomer, but he has put up numbers the last two seasons in Triple-A. He played well in limited action after getting called up in September. Although he turns 31 in June, Salazar has a very real shot at making the team with a solid spring, especially given his position flexibility that includes first and third base and shortstop.
2003
Salazar struck out 55 times in just 266 at bats at Double-A Binghamton. Unless something dramatically changes, he's going nowhere fast.
