RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2014

There was no outlook written for Chad Zerbe.

2005

Zerbe failed to stick in the Giants bullpen last season, and with the options that the Giants have there already, he'll be hard pressed to find regular playing time in 2005.

2004

Zerbe's ERA of 4.71 would have looked a lot worse anywhere else, and in front of any other defense. He's not anything special against lefties, so his role is primarily 12th pitcher. Those of you in eight-team NL West leagues should list him; everyone else can pass.

2003

Nice little 2002 ERA of 3.04 in 50 games (56 innings) of middle relief in a situational lefty role. May do more of the same in 2003, but the role just doesn't have much roto impact, and the Giants are too stacked in pitching to have this 30-year-old journeyman try anything else. No need to put him on your draft lists.
