2013
There was no outlook written for Gary Knotts.
2005
Knotts alternated between the bullpen and the starting rotation in 2004, starting 19 games and coming on in relief in 17 more. He'll compete for a spot in the starting rotation in spring training this year, but would have to outperform several young pitchers to earn a spot. Manager Alan Trammell likes being able to employ Knotts as a reliever or a starter depending on the Tigers' needs, so Knotts will likely be used in this role again in 2005 which limits his fantasy value.
2004
In 20 games for the Tigers, Knotts got hammered all year long. There is no reason to seriously consider him for any sort of fantasy position, as he walks too many and strikes out far too few.
2003
Spent the second half last year doing the proverbial yeoman's workout out of the bullpen. The opposition only hit .197 off him, which is good, but he also walked 16 in 30 2/3 innings, which is bad. Until he shows that the good wasn't a fluke, and improves the bad, he'll stay merely mediocre.
