Kit Pellow

Pellow spent the better part of a decade in the Royals minor league system and posted numbers good enough to at least get a look in the bigs (five 20+ homers season in the minors). Despite his success, the Royals never brought him up. He moonlighted at catcher for the Rockies to end the '03 season in the hopes that he could become more than a filler at 3B until the likes of Atkins and Baker are ready to man the hot corner. Pellow still has some pop in his bat, but at 31, his days as a prospect have probably come and gone. Still, if he shows the Rockies something in Spring Training, he might get a look at the big league level. After toiling in the Royals system, locked in Omaha until he could leave via minor league free agency, he deserves at least that much.
