RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2014

There was no outlook written for Ryan Bukvich.

2005

Dealt to San Diego as a throw-in in the Terrence Long for Darrell May swap, the Royals once viewed the 26-year-old a potential late-inning reliever. He throws hard enough but hasn't shown the consistency necessary for the majors. Expect the same role in the upcoming season as he bounces between Triple-A and the majors as injuries dictate.

2004

Bukvich regressed in 2003, putting his immediate future in doubt. In a stacked competition with Mike MacDougal entering the season, wildness and poor performance put him back in Triple-A. He has a live arm but needs to harness it a little more to be effective in the majors.

2003

He's a hard-throwing right-hander, who will be in the mix for the closer job in 2003. He has a plus fastball that can clock into the upper 90s, but relies on it an awful lot. Didn't allow a run in 13 innings in Triple-A in 2002; he's ready for the big leagues.
