Vance has yet to show that he has an understanding of what pitching in the thin air means. His numbers saw an immediate spike upon his arrival at Colorado Springs and went up even further upon promotion to the majors. He still walks far too many to be effective and needs more time at Triple-A to prove that he still has a place in the Rockies' plans for the future.

Until Vance can cut down on his walks, he'll struggle to keep a major league roster spot.
