RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2013

There was no outlook written for Brandon Fahey.

2008

If you're describing an undersized, powerless middle infielder, are you required to use the term "scrappy" within three sentences or risk losing your BBWAA card? Fahey is right out of the David Eckstein/Bo Hart casting cloth, having never slugged over .400 at any professional level. He doesn't get on-base or run often enough to overcome that power shortfall.

2007

Fahey saw more playing time than he should have in 2006. Though the scrappy 160-lb. infielder-turned-outfielder hit a respectable .275/.335/.365 while starting through July after being called up due to long-term injuries to Jay Gibbons, David Newhan and Chris Gomez, he struggled thereafter, batting .137/.213/.164 and eventually losing his starting job. Fahey will become the team's primary left-handed utility infielder in 2007 (though still behind Gomez), and can fill in at left field if needed, but he won't see nearly the same number of plate appearances as he did in 2006.
