2010
Tanner posted a 3.17 ERA and 1.251 WHIP at High-A San Jose last season, and while it was impressive for a 21-year-old, it was already his third year pitching at that level. His strikeout rates have always been modest, but he’s on the radar after holding his own at his age. Tanner should get a chance to prove himself at Double-A Connecticut in 2010.
2009
Tanner posted a 3.69 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP as a 20-year-old for High-A San Jose last season. He doesn’t fan a ton of batters, but he allowed just one homer over 117 innings thanks to a strong G/F ratio. Still, Tanner is years away from being an option in San Francisco.
