2013
There was no outlook written for Kason Gabbard.
2009
Gabbard was limited to just 12 starts, sidelined since late June with bone chips in the throwing elbow. He has a long history of being hittable with poor control, and there's little reason to think that will change. Some things get better with age; some things mold. Gabbard's covered with a nice green fuzz.
2008
Gabbard came over from Boston in the Eric Gagne trade after a decent seven-start audition with the Red Sox, but pitched poorly in eight starts for Texas (23 walks, 26 K in 40.1 innings, 5.58 ERA). His profile (soft-tossing lefty, control issues) doesn't bode well for any starter, much less one calling Rangers Ballpark his home.
2007
Gabbard was all over New England last year, moving from Double-A Portland to Triple-A Pawtucket before making seven appearances for Boston when injuries hit the starting staff. He did okay in Boston, but had a penchant for walking batters and doesn't stand a chance of cracking the rotation to begin the season. We see Rhode Island in his future.
