2007
Youman doesn't project as anything more than a middle-inning reliever because of his average stuff. That said, he showed a competitive side to him absent in other Pirates pitchers blessed with more talent that have come and gone in recent years. Youman, 27, compiled a 2.91 ERA in 21.2 innings after being called up in September. The 6-foot-4 lefty earned his chance by going 11-2 with a 2.29 ERA between Double-A and Triple-A in 2006.
