2011
Ford recorded 37 steals over 113 games at Double-A last season, although he was also caught 15 times and posted just a .680 OPS. He strikes out too often and doesn't possess much power, but the speed is intriguing, as he's one of the fastest players in baseball. He was called up to San Francisco in September but acted solely as a pinch-runner, seeing zero at-bats at the big league level. Ford might move up to Triple-A in 2011, but he's not going to be of much help in San Francisco anytime soon.
2010
Ford strikes out too much, but he batted .300 and stole 35 bases over 380 at-bats for High-A San Jose last season. San Francisco added him to the 40-man roster during the offseason, protecting Ford from the Rule 5 draft. He’s 24 years old and not close to helping at the major league level, but his stolen-base potential could make him intriguing down the road.
