RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2013

There was no outlook written for Eddie Bonine.

2010

The 27-year-old righty spent 2009 bouncing between Triple-A Toledo and the Tigers. He finished 1-1 with a 4.46 ERA for the Tigers while splitting time between roles in the rotation and bullpen. More of the same should be on tap during the 2010 season, as Bonine has never displayed the skills to be a successful regular in the majors. At best, look for Bonine to earn a role as a long-relief option out of the bullpen.

2009

Bonine is a soft tossing righty who really didn't have much business starting in the majors last season. The Tigers had rotation openings due to injuries and poor performances and their lack of depth forced them to turn to options like Bonine to fill in the gaps. Bonine will almost certainly begin next season back at Triple-A and won't see time in the majors unless the Tigers run into a repeat of last year's problems.
