76ers Outlast Spurs In Double OT
The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the host San Antonio Spurs, 133-126, in double overtime at Frost Bank Center on Sunday evening.

Tyrese Maxey dropped 52 points to lead the shorthanded 76ers to a fifth straight win. The 76ers jumped out to a strong start and led by six points after one quarter. The Spurs turned it up in the second and outscored the hosts, 40-23, in the quarter to claim a 10-point lead at the break. Both sides came up quiet in the third, while the visitors managed to trim it back to a seven-point game entering the final quarter. The Spurs stayed in control for most of the fourth, but the Sixers rallied late and tied it up at 111, to force overtime. Both sides traded buckets in the first overtime period, but the 76ers outscored the hosts, 12-5, in the second overtime period to close out the road win. This also marks the third loss in four games for the Spurs.

Maxey also tallied five rebounds, seven assists and two steals, in his 54 minutes. Kelly Oubre followed up with 26 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two blocks, while Paul Reed logged 11 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, a steal and a block. The 76ers shot 45.6 percent from the field, including 12-for-39 from deep.

Meanwhile, Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs with 33 points, 18 rebounds, six assists and seven blocks, in 43 minutes. Malaki Branham followed up with 22 points, three rebounds and a block, while Tre Jones and Julian Champagnie added 17 points each.

The Spurs (19-59) will look to bounce back as they clash with the Grizzlies in Memphis on Tuesday. The 76ers (44-35) play host to the Pistons on Tuesday.
