Friend (quadriceps) is healthy heading into this season and is expected to see an increase in playing time, The Indiana Daily Student reports.
ANALYSIS
Injuries have marred Friend's Hoosier career to this point, but the redshirt junior is finally healthy and he'll be looking to step into a bigger role this year. Indiana will be replacing two senior tight ends from a year ago in Michael Cooper and Anthony Corsaro, which opens the door for Friend to step up. That said, those two tight ends combined for a grand total of 27 receptions last season, so it's clear that Friend's primary responsibilities will be as a blocker.
