2023 Fantasy Outlook
There was no outlook written for Shane Carden in 2023. Check out the latest news below for more on his current fantasy value.
December 5, 2014
Carden completed 36-of-48 passes for 397 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions against Central Florida on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Carden didn't really find a rhythm in his final regular season game until the fourth quarter, when his three touchdown passes helped his team come back from a 15-point deficit to take a late lead before eventually falling on the final play. Carden was unable to match his junior year touchdown total but did cut his interceptions and threw for more yards. Expect the Pirates to showcase their passing attack one last time in their bowl game.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2014
2013
Carden has been an elite fantasy QB in East Carolina's Air Raid offense the last two years, averaging 3,627 yards and 28 touchdowns through the air and nine touchdowns on the ground. The East Carolina offense attempts more than 40 passes per game, and he does a great job of supplementing that production with rushing touchdowns. He also has a deep and talented group of receivers, highlighted by Justin Hardy (114 catches in 2013). Carden's fantasy stock is hurt by his schedule this year, though – he has three byes and has to play against South Carolina, Virginia Tech and North Carolina in consecutive weeks starting Week 2.
Carden began the 2012 season on the bench behind Rio Johnson, but by the third week he made it clear that he belonged in the starting lineup. He had a rocky first start against Southern Mississippi, but from that point onward Carden was one of the best fantasy quarterbacks in the country. He finished his sophomore season with 3,116 yards (7.5 YPA), 23 touchdowns and 10 interceptions through the air while running for 74 yards and eight touchdowns, showing major potential both as a passer and runner. Carden has an excellent No. 1 receiver to throw to in Justin Hardy, and the quartet of Danny Webster, Justin Jones, Jabril Solomon and Reese Wiggins possesses a good amount of talent, too.
