Florida: Adam Lane Granted Release
Florida announced Sunday that Lane was granted his release from the program due to family issues, Matt Baker of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Jim McElwain said that Lane desired to be closer to his hometown of Winter Haven, Fla. to attend to a family-related matter. As a redshirt freshman, Lane rushed for 181 yards in seven games, with 109 of those yards coming in the Gators' Birmingham Bowl victory over East Carolina. Lane was expected to compete for the top backup running back gig during camp behind Kelvin Taylor.
