Dismissed from Wake Forest
Wake Forest coach Dave Clawson announced Wednesday that Kearns was dismissed from the program for a violation of team rules, Brian Hall of WFMY News 2 reports.

Clawson didn't go into specifics of the circumstances surrounding Kearns' dismissal, but his departure will leave the Demon Deacons a bit low on quarterback depth heading into the fall. As a redshirt freshman in 2016, Kearns appeared in five games, including his first collegiate start in a loss to Clemson.
