2023 Defense Stats
2023 Defense Projections
Diaz is preparing for a challenging fall camp, this after finding out that the Arizona coaching staff is moving him from left guard to left tackle in order to take over for the departed Eben Britton. "It was a surprise," Diaz tells the Arizona Daily Star. "They saw that I knew the system really well and figured that since I played some tackle [in junior college] that I had some experience."
ANALYSIS
Diaz, the article reports, has perhaps one of the biggest learning curves heading into fall, given that he is not only having to learn the finer points of a new position, but also has prepare to defend two very different types of potential starter quarterbacks in Matt Scott and Nick Foles. Diaz describes Scott as "not really a pocket quarterback," someone that "likes to run around," while Foles "can step up in the pocked and throw it." With Foles, Diaz notes he "doesn't have to stay locked up on my guy as long."
