Phillip Bates

Bates is an Iowa State transfer with brilliant athleticism but questionable passing ability. Look for him to see the field regularly as a running specialist, but he'll have a hard time beating former starter Boo Jackson in a competition to be the best all-around quarterback. He's worth keeping an eye on in all formats if he wins the job, though, mostly because of his running ability.
