2023 Rush/Rec Projections
2023 Fantasy Outlook
Hemby took a massive leap in his sophomore season with the Terrapins, finishing the 2022 campaign with 989 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground to go along with 33 receptions, 298 yards and one touchdown through the air. His 5.3 yards per carry finished seventh overall in the Big Ten, an increase of over 1.0 yards per carry from his freshman season. Entering his third year, Hemby should see a similar, if not increased, role as the lead back in a deep running back room among the likes of Antwain Littleton, Ramon Brown and Colby McDonald. Though the Terrapins' offensive line may prove to be one of the weaker units in the conference, Hemby's versatility grants him the ability to make plays in the open field and take the next step as an elite back in the Big Ten. Logs 78 scrimmage yards
Hemby logged seven rushes for 17 yards and caught their only target for 61 yards during Saturday's 31-13 win versus Auburn.
ANALYSIS
Hemby's lone reception compensated for his disappointing tally in rushing yards. The Auburn game was somewhat indicative of how excellent 2023 went. Despite his rushing stats slipping, Hemby's receiving stats improved enough that he still finished that year with more than 1,000 scrimmage yards and five touchdowns. Having achieved such a feat in back-to-back seasons, the same will be expected from him during 2024.
