McNamara, a 6-5, 230-pound tight end for Westview High School in San Diego, California, has provided the University of Arizona with a verbal commitment to join its 2012 recruiting class, the Tucson Citizen reports.

Ranked a four-star recruit by Rivals.com, McNamara commented, "Arizona presents the opportunity for early playing time and has shown they know how to get the ball to the tight end and the whole program is surrounded with great people." ESPN recruiting analyst Craig Haubert mentions in an evaluation of McNamara, "It wasn't that long ago that Arizona landed one of the top tight end prospects in the nation. While I wouldn't quite put McNamara in Rob Gronkowski's categroy at this time his commitment does signify another big grab at the position for the Wildcats."
