Jason Pierre-Paul may have dominated the fireworks-related headlines in the wake of July 4, but it seems Wilson suffered the more severe injuries. A former undrafted free agent, Wilson has just five tackles in four career games through two seasons. He would have been on the roster bubble, and while the loss of two fingers wouldn't necessarily preclude him from playing defensive back, it also wouldn't have helped his chances to make the team. Wilson may try to return to football in 2016.
