After missing the entire 2008 season with a knee injury, Rushing will look to regain his role as the kick returner for the Colts in 2009. He has always been a serviceable defensive back, but not an impact cornerback. We will see if he can bounce back from missing the entire 2008 and return kicks for the Colts again.

Along with his duties as a backup cornerback, Rushing is penciled in as the Colts' starting punt and kick returner. He could have decent value in IDP leagues that award points for returns on special teams.

Rushing, who returned five kickoffs for touchdowns in his final two years at Stanford, is the leading candidate for both the kickoff and punt return jobs. Short in stature but fearless as a returner, Rushing should be as good, if not better than Terrence Wilkins was last season. He’ll also compete for time as a reserve cornerback.
