RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
Ihedigbo is a strong bet to make the roster and could see quite a bit of playing time on special teams and in three-safety packages. He may have an outside shot to win the starting strong safety job, but most media outlets have the name of rookie first-round pick Matt Elam written in pen. Should Elam disappoint or suffer an injury, Ihedigbo is the kind of hard-hitting safety that can pile up tackles and make for a useful IDP.
Ihedigbo gives the Pats some strong safety depth, but if he sticks around again, he'll likely do most of his damage as a special-teamer.
