Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)Stewart's primary competition comes in the form of Terrence Brooks, a talented third-round draft pick out of FSU. While it's fair to consider Stewart as the favorite for Week 1 starting duties, Brooks should not be written off just yet. The starter may hold some IDP value, but the real player to target in Baltimore's secondary is 2013 first-round draft pick Matt Elam, who is already being trusted to make the adjustments for the defensive backfield.
RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
Stewart is expected to open training camp as the Rams' starting strong safety.
Stewart is not guaranteed a starting role, but he was productive at free safety when he did start a year ago and would deserve a major boost if he could be guaranteed 16 starts (or 12, for that matter.) He finished 2011 with 84 tackles (67 solo) in 15 games – 13 starts. He also chipped in three sacks, an interception (which he returned for a touchdown), 11 passes defended and two forced fumbles. Craig Dahl also produced in the role in 2010, so keep an eye on both and pick the starter to find a good bargain.
Could end up as the club's starting free safety but more likely to be a key special team's contributor and primary backup to last year's starter James Butler.
