RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Chris Culliver.
2015 will be Culliver's first season as a Redskin after signing a four year contract in the offseason. Culliver recorded a career high four interceptions in 2014 in his first season back from a torn ACL. He is expected to fill the top cornerback slot in 2015 but has not shown the ability to be a shutdown corner.
Culliver is recovering from an ACL tear in 2013. If he can return at full strength by the time the season starts, then he would likely fill one of the two vacated starting corner back positions vacated by Tarell Brown and Carlos Rogers.
While Culliver would have been competing for a reserve role in the 49ers secondary during camp, he sustained a torn ACL and will miss the entire 2013 season. His 47 tackles in 2012 were the most of any non-starting defensive player and would he have retained his role, he would have been expected to continue building off last year's totals.
Culliver will be a backup cornerback.
