Weeden signed a two-year deal with the Cowboys on Monday, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.

Weeden will serve as a backup to starter Tony Romo, as well as a potential insurance policy should Romo experience any complications following his back procedure last December. Kyle Orton is still on the roster though and Romo expects to be ready for OTAs, so even if Romo has a setback there's no guarantee Weeden will see much game action in Dallas.
Weeden is slated to visit the Cowboys on Monday, the Dallas Morning News reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

The 30-year-old Weeden, who the Browns made the No. 22 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft, should catch on elsewhere as a backup, but it seems unlikely that he'll be pursued in free agency by any teams looking for a starting QB option.
Weeden, who the Browns made the No. 22 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft, is reportedly looking for a change of scenery, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

In his two-season tenure with the Browns, the 30-year-old Weeden has compiled a 5-15 record, with 23 touchdowns and 26 interceptions in that span. Supporting the notion that he is a candidate to be moved, the report notes that the Browns think highly of fellow signal-caller Brian Hoyer and also appear destined to select a quarterback in the first round of May's NFL draft. With that in mind, NFL.com's Michael Silver speculates that the Cardinals, Texans and Buccaneers could be potential fits for Weeden in the event that he is granted the fresh start he seeks.
Weeden finished the 2013 season completing 141 of 267 passes (52.8%) for 1,731 yards with nine touchdowns and nine interceptions.

2014

2013

The Browns have an entirely new front office and coaching staff, so there's little built-in loyalty to a quarterback who will turn 30 this year, but he'll open the season as the team's starting QB. Weeden should improve in Year 2, and the addition of chain-mover and slot man Davone Bess gives him another reliable option. That said, top target Josh Gordon is suspended for the season's first two games, and new offensive coordinator Norv Turner often likes to run in the red zone.

2012

Weeden’s rookie year figures to be ugly. While the 22nd overall pick is the favorite to win the starting job over veteran Colt McCoy, Weeden will be throwing to the league’s worst receivers in the league’s toughest defensive division, and he’ll get four games against the NFC East, too, which might be the second-toughest defensive division. There might be some hope for Weeden to obtain relevance, if Cleveland maintains its high pass-attempt volume (570 attempts) from last year, but even that prospect seems unlikely as the team drafted running back Trent Richardson with the third overall pick. Weeden has the arm to make throws down field, and Richardson’s presence will open up passing lanes, but it’s not clear whether Greg Little and Mohamed Massaquoi are good enough to make plays for him.
