According to offensive coordinator Ron Turner, Blake will receive additional playing time during Saturday’s preseason game against the Colts, the Daily Herald reports. “He’s played in similar systems in the past, so he’s got enough of a working knowledge to get some time in,” Turner said. “If he’s going against Kurt (Kittner) for that third quarterback spot, we have to see what they both do.”

RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2014

There was no outlook written for Jeff Blake.

2004

Blake will compete for the primary backup quarterback position, behind superstar Donavan McNabb, with Koy Detmer.

2003

Blake did a credible job with the Ravens in 2002, throwing 13 touchdown passes in 10 starts, but now he's headed to Arizona, where he'll be working with the youngest and least talented wide receiver group in the league. Blake hasn't done a lot of scrambling since his days with the Bengals, but it would serve him well if his feet remember, fast. There's not a lot of fantasy value to be had here. The Cardinals may decide to junk the season and go with young QB Josh McCown at some point in the second half of the year.
