Furrey (concussion) has landed on IR, the Washington Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Furrey, who had 98 catches for the Lions in 2006, but just 23 (in 16 games) for the Browns last season, wasn't really on the fantasy radar heading into the 2010 campaign, but his injury represents a hit to the Redskins' wideout depth.

Depth at wide receiver. Also has experience playing in the secondary. He is expected to only see playing time on the offensive side of the ball.
Given the Browns' current state at receiver, he has a pretty good shot at making the team coming out of training camp. The problem will be getting the ball into his hands with an uncertain situation at quarterback and an offense that struggled to produce over the course of last season.
Furrey saw his production fall off in 2007, going from 98 grabs in '06 to just 61 last season. He also found the end zone only once. He will likely be in a battle with Shaun McDonald for the team's third wide out spot, and he will open camp as the underdog.
Someone had to lead the NFC in receptions – please forgive us if we didn’t expect it to be Furrey. Coming into 2006, Furrey had caught just 21 career passes, in part because he was busy making tackles and intercepting passes as a safety for the Rams. But former Rams coach Mike Martz brought him to Detroit to help the Lions’ receivers understand his offense, and Furrey outplayed enough of them to earn the starting job opposite Roy Williams. At 5-11, 190, Furrey’s hardly an imposing presence, and he’s not particularly fast. But knows how to get open in the short and intermediate areas of the field, has good hands and knows Martz’ system – Furrey caught 67 percent of the balls thrown his way. And despite his unexceptional size, he actually saw more red-zone looks (16), touchdowns (six) and goal-line looks (three) than Williams. Of course, that’s all likely to change with the arrival of mega-prospect Calvin Johnson who’s ideal red-zone size and athleticism should direct some of the in-close throws his way. Nonetheless, as a slot receiver and possession option, we’d expect Furrey to remain very much in the mix.
Furrey returns to the offensive side of the ball after starting 11 games at safety and notching four interceptions for the Rams in 2005. As a receiver, he has no fantasy value.
The un-drafted ex-Arena player made a nice contribution to the Rams in 03' with 20 grabs for 189 yards and also returned 11 punts (10.8-yd avg) and seven kickoffs (20-yd avg). While we're happy that he's made it to the Show we don't feel compelled to draft him in 04'.
Former Arena League star had 46 touchdowns in the AFL last season. Will any of that translate to the NFL? We'll see.
