RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2014

There was no outlook written for Kenny Watson.

2009

Right now the leader to be Cedric Benson's backup, but he'll have to hold off Bernard Scott, among others. A good change-of-pace back, Watson probably isn't capable of being an every-down back in the event of a Benson injury.

2008

Watson looks like the frontrunner, ahead of Chris Perry, to backup Rudi Johnson and will likely see plenty of action as a third-down back. Unfortunately, Watson's value takes a hit if Perry remains healthy, as the two would likely split carries if Johnson were to get hurt. Still, if you're looking to handcuff a back to Johnson, Watson is the guy you want over Perry.

2007

Still the Bengals' third-round back, although the acquisition of Kenny Irons threatens his job security.

2006

Watson is expected to be third on the Bengals running back depth chart, but nagging injuries to Chris Perry (knee, ankle) may have opened the door for Watson to earn some minutes. Watson is a talented runner and receiver, which makes him a legitimate third down back in the event that Perry is unable to recover.

2005

Will battle Chris Perry for the back-up running back spot behind Rudi Johnson. Perry has an advantage as a former first round pick, but Watson has proven to be a solid backup at the NFL level. And with Perry coming off major injury, Watson could still be in-line to get some playing time this season.

2004

Batting with Skip Hicks and Herbert Goodman to make the team, Watson will have to excel on special teams to ensure a spot on the roster.

2003

Watson is a sleeper in the Washington backfield chase - he didn't look bad in limited playing time during 2002.
