RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2014

There was no outlook written for Dunta Robinson.

2013

Robinson is expected to be the Chiefs primary slot cornerback. The 10-year veteran's best days may be behind him, but he has posted four seasons with at least 80 total tackles--including last year--so he's not off the IDP radar just yet.

2011

Robinson tallied 55 tackles in 2010, but he's struggled to match the high interception totals he had to begin his career. If the Falcons continue to be one of the best offenses in the league, it's safe to assume opposing teams will be throwing the ball a little more if they're playing from behind. This could mean a small uptick in production for Robinson, but there are probably better options available. Look for around 60 tackles and two interceptions this season.

2010

Robinson will start at cornerback for the Falcons but he hasn't produced an impressive fantasy season since 2004. He failed to intercept a pass for the first time last season but did start all 16 games for the first time since 2006.

2009

Robinson hasn't signed his tender offer and skipped OTAs and a mandatory minicamp, after getting franchised for the second straight season. With the Texans thinking playoffs in 2009, they need Robinson, who is the best cornerback on the team. He came back from a knee injury and the PUP list to play at a high level in '09.

2008

Coming off reconstructive knee surgery, Robinson will not be ready for the start of the 2008 season. He is one of the most talented cornerbacks in the league when healthy and should provide some value if he can return to the lineup with the majority of the season remaining.

2006

Robinson is the Texans' best man in the secondary, but playing on such a poor defense hurt his numbers in 2005 (one interception, one sack, down from six and three the season before). He will start at left corner back for the third consecutive season.

2005

Robinson didnít become a corner until 2002 in college, moving from safety. Weíd say it agreed with him. On a team that ranked dead last in sacks in 2004, Robinsonís three from the corner position were a bright spot. Heís got all the physical tools to become a dominating corner: great speed, burst, change of direction, range and closing ability. Better in zone coverage, heís still mastering man-to-man technique, and fantasy owners would just love it if opposing quarterbacks keep trying to test him. With his experience at safety, open-field tackling isnít a problem.

2004

Robinson was drafted 10th overall in the 2004 NFL draft and will start at cornerback for Houston. They like him enough to move Marcus Coleman to free safety. We expect opponents to throw his way a lot, so there might be some chances for interceptions.
