Washington will add secondary depth as potentially a nickel or dime cornerback, but cannot be likely counted on in IDP leagues as he has not made an interception in the past two seasons.
Washington, still recovering from the ACL tear that landed him on IR in November, is expected to start opposite Dominique Foxworth this season. Just how effective he'll be is still a question. Washington has never put up great defensive numbers in his career, so there are probably better IDP options to consider.
Washington is expected to start opposite Dominique Foxworth at cornerback. Washington played well in nickel duty last season, recording 31 tackles, 15 pass deflections and one interception.
Washington will serve as Baltimore's nickelback and has a chance to start at some point in the season if Samari Rolle struggles or gets hurt. If this were to happen, he could see a decent amount of interception opportunities playing opposite of Chris McAlister.
Slated to start the season at CB. 4 picks last season and 40 tackles. Not likely to have an impact as an IDP.
Washington looms as one of the true breakout cornerbacks for 2006. Blessed with incredible speed and tremendous instincts, he seemed to be reading things a step slow last year, during his rookie season. The Raiders are intent on generating more turnovers this year and they think that Washington can be the guy to help make it happen. He is a very interesing sleeper IDP for 2006.
Washington was expected to challenge Nnamdi Asomugha for the starting job alongside Charles Woodson, but he's gotten off to a slow start in training camp. He's actually fallen behind fellow rookie Stanford Routt in the team's nickel and dime packages.
