RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Ron Bartell.
Bartell will likely begin the 2012 campaign as the Raiders' starting cornerback opposite Shawntae Spencer. Bartell sustained a neck injury in Week 1 of 2011, causing him to spend the rest of the season on IR.
Will be the club's No.1 cornerback opposite Bradley Fletcher.
Slated to be the club's starting left cornerback opposite Justin King but competition will be fierce as several good, young players are beginning to emerge in the club's defensive backfield.
With the departure of Fahkir Brown, Bartell instantly steps in and becomes the Rams No. 1 corner heading into 2009. After a rough start to his career Bartell has worked his way into becoming one of the top young corners in the league. After a 2008 season which saw him produce 57 tackles, 19 passes defensed, two forced fumbles, three interceptions, and one sack we don't see any reason why his growth won't continue in 2009, especially with a better coaching staff and upgrade in the defensive players around him.
Is the early favorite to win the club's nickel back slot while backing up Tye Hill at left cornerback.
Is expected to be the team's 3rd corner while also backing up Atogwe at free safety.
The club is attempting to convert Bartell to a safety and he'll compete with Jerome Carter and Ashiomogho Atogwe for the starting job at FS. Will most likely earn a back-up job while becoming a fixture of special teams.
