Joseph is getting on years, but the 35-year-old was one of the few holdovers the Texans kept after cleaning house in the secondary. He reversed a three-year trend of declining tackles, averaging more than four tackles per game, and picked off two passes in 2018. Despite the advanced age, Joseph doesn't miss much time to injury and remains a good coverage man.
Joseph had a bounceback season in 2017, picking off two passes and returning one for a touchdown. Both picks came in the same game and snapped a streak of 25 games without one. The 34-year-old cornerback has been durable, missing just seven games over the last seven seasons, and still has good coverage skills. Perhaps in a nod to his advancing years, Jospeh's 2.94 tackles per game represented a fourth straight year of decline.
Joseph enters his 12th training camp still on top of his game. The 33-year-old shows no drop-off in coverage but fantasy owners are interested in interceptions. And Joseph has just one pick over the last 33 games. Creating turnovers is an opportunity for improvement acknowledged by the Texans, after they finished 24th in takeaways and 21st in interceptions last season. If Joseph stays healthy, he'll be a weekly starter and will have plenty of opportunities to improve his turnover numbers.
Joseph returns as the Texans' top cornerback, coming off a career-high 22 passes defensed in 2015. He had just one pick in 2015 and 12 overall in his five seasons with Houston. Joseph underwent offseason knee surgery, but looks good early in training camp, breaking on the ball with confidence. Joseph, along with Kareem Jackson and the up-and-coming Kevin Johnson, comprise one of the better defensive backfields in the AFC.
Joseph signed a three-year contract extension in the offseason and will return as a starting cornerback.
Joseph will be one of Houston's starting cornerbacks. He's considered the top cover corner on the team.
Joseph missed some time in the second half of the season due to hamstring and groin injuries and was impacted by those upon his return, but he still maintained a high level of play at the cornerback position. He's Houston's best cover guy and will continue to be the one who covers opponents' most dangerous wideouts.
Joseph came as advertised, giving the Texans elite cornerback play, tying for the team lead with four interceptions, and helping to turn around one of the league's worst pass defenses. He's the IDP of choice in the Texans' secondary and benefits from playing behind one of the league's better pass rushes.
Joseph has evolved into one of the top corners in the game, earning himself a large commitment from the Texans. Houston is a team starving for good cornerback play and they got an elite one in Joseph. As such, opposing quarterbacks will likely throw away from Joseph's side and limit his interceptions and tackles.
Joseph followed up an impressive but injuryshortened 2008 season in grand fashion, emerging as one of the top IDP corners in the league. Joseph picked off six passes in 2009, returning one for a touchdown, and was credited with 69 tackles — a good number for a cover corner. He’ll team with Leon Hall again this season to give the Bengals one of the top corner tandems in the NFL.
Joseph's foot injury halted a growing season in 2008. He'll start opposite Leon Hall to give the Bengals two up-and-coming corners.
Joseph is expected to start alongside Leon Hall at cornerback for the Bengals in 2008. He picked off four passes last year with 58 tackles and should see an improvement across the board with the added playing time.
The Bengals are counting upon Joseph, last year's first-round draft pick, a lot more heading into 2007. Last season he had a bad habit of dropping easily catchable balls for interceptions. Watch for his status in training camp - he had to have surgery on his foot over the offseason.
Back-up cornerback that will challenge Keiwann Ratliff for the nickel spot. The first round draft pick for the Bengals this offseson, Joseph has been impressive thus far in training camp with his combination of size and speed.
