RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Clint Ingram.
Ingram will compete for the starting outside linebacker position vacated by Scott Fujita. Given his experience, Ingram is the likely favorite to win the job entering camp. With defensive coordinator Gregg Williams' attacking scheme, Ingram could post solid numbers if he wins the starting job.
Ingram will start at outside linebacker in 2009.
Ingram will battle for a starting linebacker spot in 2008, but doesn't pick up the tackles you'd like to see in a regular IDP play.
Ingram had a monster rookie year in 2006, and there is no reason to believe that he can't continue that success in '07. He finished second on the team in tackles with 71, though that number could drop this season with the return of Mike Peterson from injury. Ingram starts 2007 backing up Daryl Smith at LOLB, but the second-year pro is simply too talented not to see regular playing time.
Ingram was drafted in the third round to help provide depth at outside linebacker. He will compete for the starting job, but will likely end up as the back-up to either Pat Thomas or Nick Greisen. Ingram has a lot of talent, and with some grooming could end up contributing more significantly in the future.
