Darby ran for 107 yards and two touchdowns on 34 carries and also caught 10 passes for 61 yards and two touchdowns in 2010.
ANALYSIS
Darby was the club's No. 2 RB behind starter Steven Jackson in all but two games. The club is expected to upgrade the position in the offseason so Darby's future remains very uncertain heading into the offseason.

Darby will head into training camp as the club's No. 2 running back behind Steven Jackson but it is no secret the club knows it needs an upgrade there so his time in that role is likely to be short. Even if Darby does retain the role heading into the regular season he'll be no more than a third-down back with limited touches and zero fantasy value.
Darby enters training camp with a real shot to become the No. 2 back behind starter Steven Jackson. His main competition will be Antonio Pittman who is a better pure runner but Darby's pass catching and blocking ability is better and should give him the edge, especially since the back-up will probably see the field only in 3rd-and-long situations. Even if he gets the job Darby isn't expected to be a fantasy threat unless Jackson goes down because the guy is a workhorse who will rarely come off the field.
Darby, a 2007 seventh-round draft pick from Alabama, spent most of last season on the practice squad before getting some playing time in a meaningless Week 17 game while the regulars were rested. He'll compete for a reserve halfback and special teams role.
Darby, the only skill player taken by the Bucs in the 2007 draft, could challenge Michael Pittman for the role of third-down back this season; that's a longshot, and that would pretty much be Darby's upside in the pros.
