Starting left guard again in 2009.
Starting left guard for the Falcons in 2008, and a so-so one at that.
Blalock was selected by the Falcons in the second round in this April's draft. He is expected to fill one of the guard spots on the offensive line, replacing the departed Matt Lehr. The Falcons shouldn't lose much in the transition except for experience, as Blalock was one of the top linemen in the nation last season at Texas. He will be expected to produce right away though, as the Falcons are coming off a season in which they led the NFL in rushing. Blalock should jump in from the first day of camp and be an anchor on the Atlanta line for years to come.
