Titans coach Mike Munchak said Adibi strained ligaments in his knee, The Tennessean reports.

Adibi left Sunday's loss to the Bears early without recording any stats. He had originally been signed to replace injured linebacker Zac Diles, who was placed on the IR, and this was only his second game with the team.

Adibi begins his fourth season with Houston and still hasn't made his mark on team starving for playmakers on defense. A switch to a 3-4 scheme is unlikely to help him much as defensive coordinator Wade Phillips is converting some defensive ends to outside backers. Adibi was waived and became a free agent. Look for another team to take a shot with him.

Adibi will back up at linebacker. Though more suited to the weakside position, he'll likely make some early-season starts on the strongside with Brian Cushing suspended for the first four games.

Adibi and Zach Diles will compete for the staring weakside linebacker job. Both players are coming off injuries, with Adibi considered the better pass defender.

Adibi is very quick linebacker who can be used in pass coverage, but will have to beat out several others for snaps.
