RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
Backup free safety.
Demps will compete to add depth at safety.
Demps has some history with the Texans going back the last few seasons and finally got a chance at playing time in 2011 when Danieal Manning went down. He was relatively productive in a fill-in role (two interceptions) and saw spot duty as a return man. With the release of Jacoby Jones and an unsettled situation in the return game, Demps has a good shot at a roster spot.
Demps has a number of competitors for a backup role in the secondary. He played pretty well in the preseason, but was part of the final roster cuts.
Demps enters 2010 as a backup safety.
Demps should start at free safety.
Will help mostly on special teams. Long-term replacement for Brian Dawkins at free safety.
