Past Fantasy Outlooks
2010
2009
2008
The Texans can't get enough of tight ends it seems as they head into the 2010 training camp. Fine will battle several players looking to hook on as a third or fourth tight end.
Fine finished the 2008 season with 10 catches for 94 yards and a score over 10 games. After he shook off a thumb injury, Fine was decent for a fourth-round rookie, though the Bills never seem to do much in the fantasy world as far as tight ends go. Fine, who had a good spring, could win Buffalo's starting tight end position, as he's in a battle for playing time with Derek Schouman and Shawn Nelson. The Bills don't figure to give their tight ends a lot of looks, and even though they say that's going to change, Lee Evans, Terrell Owens, Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson should carry the bulk of the production in this offense. We can see the team not having a true starter at TE, and mixing in Schouman, Nelson and Fine in different packages.
A former three-year starter at Kansas, Fine will compete for the backup tight end spot in training camp. The Bills have a few bodies at the position, but they like Fine's versatility and envision him as an H-back type who can line up in several different spots. For Year 1, however, he looks mostly like a guy who will use his special teams talent to keep a spot on the squad.
