RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Lex Hilliard.
Hilliard is out for the season with a leg injury.
Hilliard will battle Jordan Todman for the No. 3 running back job this summer. That job could have some fantasy relevance if Adrian Peterson isn't ready to begin the regular season while recovering from a torn ACL. Hilliard could have a special teams or third-down role even if Todman wins the job.
Hilliard may have had a chance for a bigger role with the Dolphins if not for the addition of Reggie Bush. His value to the Dolphins will mainly be on special teams unless Bush or Daniel Thomas were to get injured.
Hilliard is not better than third for the Dolphins on their running back depth chart, and if Patrick Cobbs proves himself to be 100% recovered from his ACL tear, than Hilliard could lose another rung on the RB ladder.
Odds are will once again be on the Practice Squad. Has limited upside and very little value.
Provides depth as a combo tailback/fullback, but will contribute most on special teams.
