ANALYSIS
Butler made a bit of noise in 2010, when he went for 385 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games, but a knee injury limited him to just five games in 2011, and he didn't play at all last season. The 28-year-old is a long shot to achieve fantasy prominence in 2013, assuming he even makes the team.

Butler had 385 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 13 games in 2010, but a knee injury limited him to just five games in 2011, and he didn't play at all last season. The 28-year-old is a long shot to have an impact if he makes the team.
Butler missed most of last season recovering from knee surgery. He returned late in the year and caught six passes for 51 yards. He has an opportunity to carve out a role for himself this season as the Seahawks seek a reliable third receiver after Sidney Rice and Doug Baldwin. His main competition -- Golden Tate and Ben Obomanu -- are not juggernauts, so if Butler proves he hasn't lost any speed since the knee injury, he could see decent targets. Watch his development in training camp.
Butler has a lot of names ahead of him on the wide receiver depth chart in Seattle and likely won't have much fantasy impact this season.
Butler didn't see much action as a rookie last season, catching just 15 passes. But he's the fastest receiver on the roster (4.38), and with the exit of Nate Burleson should be the unquestioned deep threat this season. His value in the eyes of a new coaching regime is the big question, though, so Butler needs an impressive training camp to be more than a backup. The upside is there, but he needs opportunity.
Butler could have value in Seattle's offense because he might be the best deep threat on the roster. Rookie wide receivers usually struggle, though, and Seattle has other wideout options, but Butler's 4.38 speed should attract attention.
