RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Andy Studebaker.
Studebaker played in 11 games last season as a reserve linebacker and will try to win a similar role this summer.
Studebaker will back up Justin Houston at outside linebacker.
Having shown a knack for big plays in the past, if Studebaker earns the starting outside linebacker slot opposite Tamba Hali he could develop into a quality IDP. He needs to first prove he can be an every-down backer. If he can become a regular on the field though, he should use his athleticism to compete with inside linebacker Derrick Johnson and strong safety Eric Berry as one of the top tacklers for the Chiefs.
Studebaker made just two starts last season, but capitalized on that opportunity by recording 11 tackles and two interceptions in those two games. He's slated to be a backup this season, but he's much younger and better athletically than Mike Vrabel and could supplant the veteran sooner rather than later. File his name away in the back of your mind in deeper IDP leagues.
