Alex Boone: Past News Updates   ( ▲ View most recent update )

Boone has ended his holdout with the 49ers and will report to the team after restructuring his two-year deal, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Things were starting to look bleak for both parties after a deal wasn't reached by the 49ers' fourth preseason game, but both sides finally broke down and worked out a deal. Boone agreed to restructure his deal for the next two years, which will bump his yearly salary from $3.7 million to $6 million. The 49ers didn't have a lot of depth behind Boone, and it was evident by their poor protection in the preseason, so that definitely worked in Boone's favor. He will return to his usual role as the starting right guard.
The 49ers have received interest from teams regarding Boone, who is holding out for a new contract, the Sacramento Bee reports.

The 49ers have publicly stated that they will not begin contract talks until players report to camp, so we may see a lengthy stand-off developing.
According to CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco, there's "no way" that Boone will report to San Francisco's training camp on time unless he receives a new contract.
