Cameron (shoulder) was full-go in Friday's practice and is likely to play Monday against the Redskins, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Cameron (shoulder) made his return to practice Monday, the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Cameron missed more than a week of practice after suffering a sprained AC joint in his shoulder last weekend, which prevented the him from playing in Saturday's preseason opener. However, he appears to be ready for action again Monday. That being said, Cameron is reportedly sporting a red "no contact" jersey during Monday's practice, meaning the Browns are still playing things safe with their top tight end. With Cleveland's next preseason outing not scheduled until next Monday, he should be fine to play by then. In the meantime, Cameron will work on developing a strong rapport with both of the Browns' competing starting quarterbacks.
Coach Mike Pettine indicated Wednesday that Cameron's shoulder is okay, but noted that the tight end will sit out Saturday's preseason opener against the Lions, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Meanwhile, the report adds that Cameron, whose shoulder issue is evidently minor in nature, should be ready for the Browns' second preseason game, against the Redskins on Aug. 18.
Cameron is dealing with what is being described as an AC issue with his shoulder, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

The report indicates that while Cameron likely won't play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Lions, if it was the regular season, it's an issue that the tight end could probably play through. In any case, he's being counted on heavily by the Browns this coming season, even more so with teammate (and Cleveland's top wideout) Josh Gordon facing a potential year-long suspension from the league.
Cameron left Saturday's practice with a shoulder injury, but Browns head coach Mike Pettine said the tight end was only held out as a precaution, Kevin Jones of the team's official website reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

There's no indication that the injury is serious, which is excellent news for a Cleveland team that's facing the prospect of playing most or all of the season without star wideout Josh Gordon. Should Gordon be ruled out for a large portion of the season, Cameron would become the favorite to lead the Browns in every major receiving category. Of course, Gordon's absence would also allow teams to focus more attention on the explosive young tight end, who struggled with consistency last season, despite posting an 80-917-7 receiving line on 117 targets.
Cameron reportedly looked sharp during the Browns' OTAs and minicamp, the team's official site reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

The report suggests that Cameron was "impossible to cover in the spring," while displaying improved footwork and open field explosion once he has the ball. After seeing 118 targets (resulting in 80 catches for 917 yards) last season, he is once again in line to see plenty of looks in the Browns' offense, in particular given the cloudy status of top wideout Josh Gordon.
Cameron, who is in the final year of his contract, has expressed interest in staying with the Browns, the Akron Beacon Journal reports. I would love to play here. I started here. I want to finish up here," the tight end stated.

RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2014

Subscribe now to see our 2014 outlook.

2013

Cameron is a big (6-5), athletic player who, like many great tight ends, comes from a basketball background. The Browns were content to let veteran Ben Watson go and use Cameron in his place for the passing game. Cameron's not an overly physical player, but the Browns brought in Kellen Davis, who can stay home to block if needed. Coach Rob Chudzinski has already sung the praises of Cameron, whom he said has the skill set to make an impact in the offense this season.

2012

Cameron is a cross-over athlete who played basketball in college. The 2011 fourth-round pick has good size and speed, but managed just six catches for 33 yards in his rookie season. The Browns don't have a standout tight end on the roster with Ben Watson and Evan Moore ahead of Cameron so he could get some opportunities, but there is no evidence in his past to suggest he'll produce anything with them.

2011

Another player who converted from basketball, Cameron is something of a project for the Browns as he played only one year of football at USC. His athleticism is evidenced by a vertical leap of more than 37 inches, and hell have a solid veteran in Ben Watson from whom to learn. With some hard work and improvement in the blocking game, Cameron could work his way into the fantasy picture. It just probably wont be this year.
