Powe has the inside track on the starting nose tackle job. His years in Kansas City when Houston defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel was head coach there gives him a leg up on the competition. He'll battle with draft pick Louis Nix.
Powe will compete with Anthony Toribio for the right to backup Dontari Poe at nose tackle.
Powe did not register a statistic in his rookie season in 2011, but he will compete with Dontari Poe and Anthony Toribio for the starting nose tackle position.
Powe, a mammoth defensive tackle, will be the primary backup to Kelly Gregg at nose tackle. Though he is expected to get some playing time as a rookie, he is not likely to produce numbers that warrant IDP play.
